Crazy Morning
So this morning we were all set to go to our weekly playgroup and I was loading the kids in the car. Max LOVES keys and whenever he sees them, he holds out his hand and says, "key?" over and over until I let him play with them. I let him hold my keys while I buckled up Caleb first, and then I buckled Max. Just when I closed Max's door, I hear the car lock. Max has the keys and is continuously pushing the lock button. UGH! I would have just gone inside to get the spare except for the spare house keys were inside our locked house, and the others Max had on the key chain. I tried coaxing Max through the window. I asked him, "Max, give the keys to Caleb." He reached over and Caleb tried to grab them, then Max would pull them back and yell, "NO!" (His new favorite word) This happened many times, until Max finally threw the keys on the floor. I tried to get Caleb to open the lock on the other side and he pushed his best, but it didn't work. I called the Locksmith and they got there pretty fast, but still the kids were locked in the car for about 45 mins. Near the end, both Max and Caleb were crying and Max kept reaching for me to get him out. I had to walk away for a while because it was so sad. The locksmith did a great job, but it still took a while, and then when he finally got it open, he told me baby lock outs were free. I was sooo grateful. I was also grateful for having it happen under the circumstances it did, it could have been a lot worse.

Max's Big Day
My baby is one now. He has been the best baby! He is snuggly and loving, and I am so thankful for him. What a wonderful year it has been! He says quite a few words now and loves to tease. He loves to follow his big brother around and copies most things that Cub does. Max laughs when everyone else does, and is pretty much obsessed with phones. His smile and his sweet eyes light up the room. I am just in love with him:) Here is a movie from his birthday.

Random Pics

These pictures are all from 2009 and they are some of my favorites. It has been a while since I was able to post, so I thought I would at least get some pictures on here. We have had a busy month with a lot of sickness in our family, but things are getting better.I love the bottom pic. Caleb and Bart are both really asleep.
The boys are doing well. Max can say quite a few words now, and we all are loving his blossoming personality. Even Cubby gets a kick out of his new gibberish and antics at times. Max is a sweetheart and loves attention. He says "HI" to everyone who passes us in the grocery store. The people get surprised to see his little face staring at them and usually laugh and say "hi" back.
Caleb just absorbs everything around him and he always makes me laugh with some new idea or saying he has picked up on and then tries to use. I love my boys so much.
Bart has been very busy with work and school. He is doing a great job and I am proud of him for all of his hard work. The boys love him so much, and he really is a good dad.
Life is good for all of us, and I can't complain:) We do have a virus on our computer so I haven't been able to post for a long time. So this is a start... Hope you all are doing well!

brownie capers
Caleb LOVES brownies. The other day when I was watching my nieces, Grace and Katrina, Caleb and Grace snuck the brownies down from the counter, hid under the table, and ate the rest of the pan. They even let Max get in on the action, which he loved. I thought it was pretty funny and had to get a few shots.

Catch Up Time
Well, this may take me a few days to post everything, so be patient with me.
We had a wonderful Christmas break. We drove to Iowa to visit Bart's family and then we also were able to spend a few days with my brother, Darin, and his family down in Chicago. The drive was long and tiring with kids, but really, they actually did pretty well. We drove through blizzards, fog, rain, freezing ice, and sunshine and while we were out there, the temp. ranged from -12 to 45. Pretty Crazy.
It was great to see everyone again and fun for our boys to play with some of their cousins they don't get to see very often.
Here is a video of Max in the Hotel room. We had to stop because of bad weather in Nebraska on the way out. He watched us throw away our pudding cups and then crawled right over...
